$10.00
One origami paper pigeon (1.75" x 3").
I’m folding these origami pigeons to raise money for Wild Bird Fund, a nonprofit that rescues and cares for sick, injured and orphaned birds in NYC. Every year the Wild Bird Fund rehabilitates over 12,000 birds and other NYC wildlife, releasing them in the wild once they are fully healed.
I will donate 100% of your $10 directly to the Wild Bird Fund. This nonprofit does incredible work, and I hope to raise a lot of money for them. Learn more about the WBF at wildbirdfund.org (and @wildbirdfund).
The origami will be packaged flat in a mini gift envelope, then inserted into a larger envelope, and sent by regular USPS mail. Included in the envelope will be a short handwritten note explaining this project and what the WBF does.
About me: My name is Miles, and I'm a middle schooler in NYC who loves origami and birds -- especially pigeons (which some people overlook and even loathe, but I find incredibly fascinating). You can see more of my origami at @origamimilesnyc.
About this project: I had the idea to start this project at the end of 2024. I originally set a goal to fold and sell 100 origami pigeons (but then exceeded my goal and sold 200 in 5 days!). After folding pigeons for a total of 26 hours, I was able to mail all the pigeon orders out and donate $2,000 to the Wild Bird Fund in December. I want to keep this project going in 2025, and will sell small batches at a time, to continue fundraising for the important work that WBF does. Thank you for your support!
